Author: bulate | Filed under: Daily Post

Monday 6/27

Just because it’s Monday doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to do! Learn to dance, become an Olympian at Roscoe’s or check out local Indie music with The Steelwells, who were featured in February’s Rolling Stone,  at Commonwealth Lounge. See, Mondays can be as cool as the weekend!

Announcements:

Today is the LAST DAY to to turn in applications from persons interested in filling a vacancy on the Energy and Resource Management Committee, an advisory group to the Fullerton City Council. Deadline for returning the applications is 5pm today. The Energy and Resource Management Committee advises the council on such matters as city-wide recycling programs, alternate energy sources and energy conservation measures. The vacancy is for an unexpired term that ends Dec. 31, 2012. Applicants must be Fullerton residents or be employed in Fullerton, and the position is volunteer (unpaid). Call the Fullerton City Clerk’s Office (714) 738-6571 for more information.

Plan Ahead: The Water Rate Study Ad Hoc Committee will hold a second public meeting at 4pm, Thursday, June 30, in the Council Chambers of Fullerton City Hall (303 W. Commonwealth Ave). The water rate study was prompted by the prospect of insufficient funds in the city budget to meet the rising costs of needed improvements to the city’s water infrastructure (pipelines, reservoirs, pump station equipment and wells). The results of the study and the proposed water rate increases are expected to be brought to the City Council in July. Further information about the June 30 meeting or the water rate study may be obtained by calling the Office of Water Engineering at Fullerton City Hall at (714) 738-6845.
