Be aware: Construction will begin later this month on much-needed improvements to Euclid St., from Orangethorpe Ave. to the 91 Freeway. The construction is expected to be completed within six weeks. Work hours will be from 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday. Only one lane will be open in each direction during construction. Signs will be posted on Euclid prior to the start of work. Further information about the project may be obtained by calling the City of Fullerton Engineering Department at (714) 738-6845.

Buy your tickets now for the Aug. 27 Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association’s award-winning Vintage57 – A Premiere Wine & Food Tasting Experience, featuring international cuisine and eclectic wines from around the globe at the Golleher Alumni House. The evening’s menu will be specially paired by Sommelier Diane DeLuca and a silent auction including wine, travel, golf and art items will be held throughout the evening in support of the Alumni Association student scholarship program.

9-10am: Baby and Me Yoga at Belly Sprout with Nita will teach you some gentle yoga postures with your baby as your body adjust post delivery. Nita will guide you through restorative poses to regain your vitality while your baby is close by your side. Simple stretches for baby are included. Precrawlers only please. Moms are to bring an extra blanket for the baby to spread on the floor and a yoga mat for themselves. Come in comfortable clothing and avoid a heavy breakfast.  You must be at least 6 weeks postpartum. Class is 6 weeks for $96. (No drop-ins or make-ups.)

9-10:30am: Morning Yoga in the Garden at the Fullerton Arboretum is $13/members $15/nonmembers. The class is appropriate for all levels including beginners. Ages 16 – 17 allowed with an adult. Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a mat if you have one. Call (657) 278-3407 for more information.

Beautiful weekend and there is plenty to do in Fullerton! Memorial Day things are already happening (but you can plan with our special page too).

Don’t forget: through June 11 the Big Dog Area of the Pooch Park will be closed to allow for grass recovery and maintenance repairs from heavy use. Big dogs may use the chip area during the closure. There will be a temporary area fenced off in the large dog area for small dogs during the closure.

8am: The 2011 Ektelon National Singles Racquetball Championships presented by ProPenn will bring the country’s best racquetball players to Fullerton. More than 500 players will converge on the Meridian Sports Club (1535 Deerpark Dr.) near the California State University, Fullerton campus May 25 to 29.

The exhibit will consist of approximately 100 color and black and white photgraphs from Julius Shulman’s Palm Springs collection. ($10 admission and Free for museum members).

7:30pm: At Lizarran enjoy two very special perfomances by the Zambra Flamenco Group with dancers Manena Fayos & Estela Moll, and Special Guests Yolanda and Paco Arroyo.

7:30-10pm: Hear free live music from Paul Breazeale at Max Bloom’s Cafe Noir.

8pm: For $15 watch The Garden at Hunger Artists Theater, an original play that has never been performed, written, produced, and directed by Matthew D. Fauls. The Garden is a dark dramatic comedy about a dysfunctional family that must go through turmoil to help their dying daughter, and ultimately, save themselves. No children under the age of 13 can attend without adult supervision due to the adult nature of this show.

8pm: All Shook Up at Plummer Auditorium is presented by 3-D Theatricals for $28-$56 ($22 Child/Student with ID). Enjoy a night that combines Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night with the music of Elvis Presley to create a swinging ’50s jukebox musical.
