9am-1pm: The Fullerton Museum Center is hosting “Camp da Vinci,”which will be led by guest artist Katherine England , and will combine art and science as participants study the observation techniques and experiments of Leonardo da Vinci. The camp, designed for youths in the fourth through eighth grades, will use art and hands-on experiments to explore topics that were favorites of da Vinci’s, including flight, architecture, anatomy and physics. Space is limited in the camp and advance prepaid registration is required.  Registration and further information may be obtained by calling the Education Office of the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-3136.

Tomorrow: Dogs of all shapes, sizes and talents are being sought for the museum’s annual “Dog Days of Summer” talent show and competition set for Thursday, Aug. 11 at the outdoor Thursday Fullerton Market, on Wilshire Ave., between Harbor and Pomona. Doggie competitions and entertainment will be held from 5-8pm. Prizes will go to the dog who: is the best kisser; has the loudest bark; is the fastest eater; does the best pet trick; and most resembles its owner. Owners may sign their dogs up for the competitions at 4pm.

The Fullerton Museum Center is hosting “Camp da Vinci,” which will be led by guest artist Katherine England Aug. 15-19, and will combine art and science as participants study the observation techniques and experiments of Leonardo da Vinci. The camp, designed for youths in the fourth through eighth grades, will use art and hands-on experiments to explore topics that were favorites of da Vinci’s, including flight, architecture, anatomy and physics.Camp hours will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day.  Fee for the camp is $220 per student, and will include all materials. Space is limited in the camp and advance prepaid registration is required.  Registration and further information may be obtained by calling the Education Office of the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-3136.
