Be aware: Construction will begin later this month on much-needed improvements to Euclid St., from Orangethorpe Ave. to the 91 Freeway. The construction is expected to be completed within six weeks. Work hours will be from 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday. Only one lane will be open in each direction during construction. Signs will be posted on Euclid prior to the start of work. Further information about the project may be obtained by calling the City of Fullerton Engineering Department at (714) 738-6845.
The Muckenthaler Cultural Center will be hosting the 2nd Annual NorthOrange County “Fullerton Sings!” competition on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7pm. Only 10 finalists will compete that day in front of industry professionals who will judge the competition. The winner will receive $500 cash prize, a trophy, and a contract for a concert at the Muckenthaler in 2012. Deadline is Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5pm by email to adam@themuck.org. 9-10am: Baby and Me Yoga at Belly Sprout with Nita will teach you some gentle yoga postures with your baby as your body adjust post delivery. Nita will guide you through restorative poses to regain your vitality while your baby is close by your side. Simple stretches for baby are included. Precrawlers only please. Moms are to bring an extra blanket for the baby to spread on the floor and a yoga mat for themselves. Come in comfortable clothing and avoid a heavy breakfast. You must be at least 6 weeks postpartum. Class is 6 weeks for $96. (No drop-ins or make-ups.)
