It’s the middle of the week but that doesn’t mean you have to fret. Check out all the great things going on in Fullerton today or plan ahead for Friday and the Art Walk! You can still read the Full Foodie column from last Friday to get a free cooking class too!

Yes, it’s that time of year again. The 4th Annual Pooch Walk hosted by Fullerton Pooch Park will be this Saturday, Sept. 3 at 9:30am. Visit their website to pre-register.

Cafe Hidalgo invites you to join them in the courtyard for their $10 for 10 wine tasting in the Villa September 7th at 6pm. Tickets are on sale now at Cafe Hidalgo in person or by phone with a credit card. You will have about twenty different wines to choose from and they are all different price ranges, so there will be a few surprises too.

Happy Wednesday to you all! Today seems like the perfect day to learn opera, visit a Farmers Market, become involved in community planning, take a cooking class or relax and enjoy some Wine Wednesday deals, and guess what? Announcements:

The 16th annual Korean American National Sports Festival officially starts today and the Korean American Sports Council of the USA and the Korean American Sports Council of Orange County have selected Fullerton as the site. June 22 – 26, the festival aims to provide Korean Americans with an opportunity to come together. The games consist of 20 sports, including golf, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, and more. The games will take place at Cal State Fullerton, Independence Park, Plummer Auditorium and the Downtown Fullerton Museum Plaza. Stay tuned to our daily posts for more.

Roscoe’s Famous Deli is starting a Monday Night Pool League! Sign-ups are happening now, so if you’re interested contact Jeff at Roscoe’s.

All day the Small Dog Area of the Pooch Park will be closed to allow for grass recovery and maintenance repairs from heavy use. There will be a temporary area fenced off in the large dog area for small dogs during the closure.

You probably all know that it’s Taco Tuesday by now but did you know that on Tuesday you can also learn ASL free, go hiking at Laguna Lake and meet singles, workout with local beachbody coaches, or watch a movie for free with an .89 cent cup of coffee?

Announcement: Applications are being accepted for two vacancies on the Community Development Citizens Committee, an advisory group to the Fullerton City Council. Both posts are for four-year terms. The Community Development Citizens Committee provides citizen input to the City Council on the development, implementation and evaluation of Fullerton’s Community Development Block Grant Program. Applications and further information may be obtained by calling the Fullerton City Clerk’s Office at (714) 738-6571.

Coming up: Want to write a book? Don’t miss this Saturday at 10am-12pm, Dr. Flora Morris Brown, author of Color Your Life Happy, will lead a workshop, “How to Write a Nonfiction Book Even if You’re an Ordinary Person and Hated High School English” at California State University Fullerton, in the Titan Student Union.
