One more day until the sky is filled with fireworks and the smell of BBQ is in the air! And if you’re ready to celebrate early we are ready to help you out. We’ve got brunch and happy hour specials and a real live Coyote Ugly show! Also, plan on what you’re doing tomorrow with our July 4 guide, and make a note that some streets in town will be closed.

All Day: From today through July 11 the Small Dog Area of the Pooch Park will be closed to allow for grass recovery and maintenance repairs from heavy use. There will be a temporary area fenced off in the large dog area for small dogs during the closure.

Sunday means the end of the weekend but hasn’t it been a beautiful one? There is a lot to do in Fullerton today and of course our Fullerton Egg Hunt for adults is still going strong!

9am-1pm: Build your own omelette (up to 20 items) at Roscoe’s Famous Deli in the SOCO District of downtown Fullerton.

9am-2pm: At Big’s Bar & Grill get all you can eat Brunch with regular drink purchase for $9.99, or for $15.99 with bottomless mimosas. Drink specials include $4.50 large domestics, $5 bloody marys, and $12 bucket of beer – 5 bottles domestic per bucket.

1-5pm: Enjoy Sunday Funday at Bourbon Street with the Crawfish Boil Big Easy Style for $15, and $2 Bloody Marys and mimosas, with live entertainment. Happy hour is 4-7pm with $4 well drinks, domestic draft beer and house wine, plus a Sunday-only $4 Hurricane special! Breakfast is served until 2pm, and the entire menu (lunch and dinner) is available at noon.

1:30pm: The Fullerton College Foundation asks you to come and participate in Hands Across California – the largest fundraising event in higher education’s history – at Fullerton College. Stand with 1.5 million others to raise awareness and funds for Calififornia Community College students through California. They will be holding hands at 2pm for about 15 minutes. 2pm: Footloose: The Musical is presented at Cal State Fullerton’s Little Theater for $20.

2pm: The Idiot Box is a comedy that centers on six sit-com characters whose lives turn topsy-turvy when they discover the amazing realities of love, sexuality and the American society that they never knew existed. Clayes Performing Arts Center-Young Theatre at Cal State Fullerton, $10.

2pm: Disappeared by Phyllis Nagy plays at the Monkey Wrench Collective theater in downtown Fullerton for $21 general admission ($11 student). Sarah Casey is a 25-year old travel agent who’s never been outside of New York. When she goes missing after leaving a seedy bar in Hell’s Kitchen, the last person to see her was a man who works in a thrift store and dresses in his client’s clothes, assuming different identities.

2pm: STAGES Theatre presents The Odd Couple for $20.

5pm: Albert Herring, with Libretto: Eric Crozier and Composer: Benjamin Britten will be at the Cal State Fullerton Clayes Performing Arts Center, Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 ($8 Titan discount).

5pm: The Cellar has been going through a series of improvements and next week new carpet will be installed. In celebration, any bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine purchased will be open with a blade in true celebratory fashion. 11am-4pm: The Fullerton Beautiful Open Garden Tour is a self-guided tour that begins at the Fullerton College Horticulture Department (Berkeley Ave.) Enjoy the plant sale and for $10 pick up a tour map. Let’s get straight to it! 58+ things to check out in town for Saturday!

Saturday 3/19

7am-2pm: Help raise money for Fullerton High School ASB and head to the Mr. Fullerton Car Wash at the High School Quad.

7-11am: Yard Sale Benefiting 4th Annual Veterans’ Appreciation Night will be on the Cal State Fullerton Campus, Parking Lot 1 (Enter Folino Dr.), Cash only.

9-10:30am: Morning Yoga in the Garden at the Fullerton Arboretum is $52 for members and $60 for non-members for 4 classes. The class is appropriate for all levels including beginners. Ages 16 – 17 allowed with an adult. Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a mat if you have one. Call (657) 278-3407 for more information.

9am-4pm: The Fullerton Arboretum hosts its annual “Monster Tomato and Pepper Sale” at The Potting Shed, located on the grounds of the Arboretum. This is the largest annual plant sale in the region focusing exclusively on tomato and pepper plants.

9am-7:30pm: The Judi Garman Classic Softball Tournament at Cal State Fullerton’s Andersen Family Field is 19 schools competing in 45 softball games over a 5-day period. Visit the event site for details on game times. Adults: $16, Seniors and Youths: $12.

2pm: 365 Days is $10 at Cal State Fullerton Hallberg Theatre, a gut-wrenching chamber theatre piece, which follows the harrowing, actual experiences of Ronald J. Glasser, during his time as a medic overseas, in the Vietnam conflict.

2pm: Tartuffe – A classic comedy, recent Broadway hit and long overdue production featuring CSUF’s graduate students! – plays at Cal State Fullerton’s Young Theatre. Single Tickets $10 ($9 with advance Titan discount).

2-4pm: The Heritage House Weekend Tours continue this weekend at the Fullerton Arboretum. Reservations not required; tours free however voluntary donations of $2/person are encouraged to help support the Heritage House.

4-7pm: Hear The Geezer with a Guitar at Max Bloom’s Cafe Noir.

5pm: Julius Caesar is presented by STAGES Theatre for $10/$12

5-9pm: The Louks To Go food truck will be at Goodwin Field for the Cal State Fullerton Baseball game.

6pm: The Cal State Fullerton baseball team plays Washington in a single non-conference game at Goodwin Field. General Admission is Adults: $8, Seniors and Youths: $6.

6pm: The Awards Ceremony for the Fullerton High School Theater Festival will be held at the Encampment Quad. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies will be given to Acting & Design category winners and evaluation forms distributed to high school instructors.

6pm: The Opening Art Reception for SYSTEMS at the Cal State Fullerton Exit Gallery is free. Exhibit will be open 12-6pm till Thursday.

6-10pm: Date Night at Belly Sprout is $40. “Put on that little black dress, grab your hubby and drop your sweet babes with us! Amy and Christy will entertain and engage your little ones so you can enjoy a night (or in) while your children are cared for in a nurturing and safe environment. We will offer healthy snacks, crafts, songs, stories and a movie.”

6pm-1am: Xtreme Bowling at AMF Carter Lanes costs $17.50 for 2 hours of bowling & shoe rental (3 person minimum) with xtreme black lighting, xtreme special effects and xtreme music.

7pm: West Side Terri at the Monkey Wrench Collective theater is one-woman musical workshop production starring Terri Mowrey. Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 students.

7-10pm: UFC 128 Shogun vs. Jones will be on at these Fullerton locations: Cantina LoungeBig’s Bar & Grill, Brian’s, Cherch Lounge, Stadium Tavern, and 8Eightyeight Cigar Lounge.  (Contact each location for cover charge information.)
